Update on Bully SE patch coming soon

Second UPDATE 03.20.08: Nevermind. The game locked up again while I was playing ‘Consumo.’ Also, the audio is sounding even worse now, as it’s incredibly choppy. This is beyond frustrating.

First UPDATE 03.20.08: No word from Rockstar yet, but upon booting up Bully on my 360 today, I was asked to install an update. Is this the big patch Bully: Scholarship Edition owners are waiting for? Probably, as I’ve played it for a bit and have yet to run into any problems. Also, the main menu now displays 1.03 [most likely referencing the version number] on the lower right hand corner of the screen.

According to Kotaku, Rockstar is planning to update everyone on the glitching issues regarding Bully: ScholarshipEdition tomorrow. Hopefully this means a patch for the title within the next couple of days to appease all those burned by that meddling Hopkins boy.

If you haven’t heard, the Xbox 360 version of Bully has been giving gamers a proverbial wedgie lately, with its barrage of glitches, lock-ups and general suckness. About the only thing the Scholarship Edition has going for it right now is its gameplay, which unfortunately, most people can’t enjoy because of these problems.

Sam Houser, Co-founder of Rockstar and Executive Producer of Bully, replied to the situation with the following:

“It appears that some older 360s are experiencing framerate issues, freezes and other problems. You have our word that we never experienced any of this in QA – in any of our offices or at Microsoft.

“I am horrified, and we are now working around the clock to rectify this situation. Thanks to Neo-Gaf for bringing this matter to our attention. We love our games and put a huge amount of energy and care into making them all that they can be. We would never shove anything out the door – we never have and never will. We apologise to everyone affected for the inconvenience.”

I’m going to call BS on the claim that its an issue with older 360s, as I have a console that was manufactured in January of this year and I’ve personally encountered these problems my self. It’s too bad the game is plagued with these issues as its a really great title and deserves an audience with those who missed it on the PS2.
